Unable to install vClient on Windows 8

This is an issue since Vmware release vClient 5.1 that it unable to download .net framework 3.5 from Microsoft site during vClient installation on windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 . Note: Windows 8 got preinstalled with .net framework 4.5 and when try to add / install .net framework version 3.5 as required by vClient installation it shows error: “Windows couldn’t complete the requested changes. Windows couldn’t connect to the internet to download necessary files. Make sure that you’re connected to the internet, and click ‘Retry’ to try again. Error code: 0x800F0906”

Appearlnly this is Windows 8 issue that prevents installation of .net framework 3.5 and Vmware is also yet to have fix for vClient to use latest .net framework.

.Finally following step fixes the issue:

Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:C:\TMP\Win8\sources\sxs /LimitAccess
